France's Top Fitness Apps on Android in Q1 2021: A Sensor Tower Analysis

As the first quarter of 2021 drew to a close, the fitness and weight loss category on Android devices saw noteworthy activity in France. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look at the trends and numbers for the top applications in this segment.

WeWard, a French publisher's app, experienced a steady increase in downloads from 11K in the last week of December 2020 to a peak of 54K in late February. Weekly active users mirrored this growth, soaring from 367K to nearly 978K by the end of March.

Yuka - Food & Cosmetic Scanner, on the other hand, started with downloads at 25K, dipping to 17K, while revenue showed fluctuations with a notable peak of $5K in early March. The app's active users reached a high of 559K in the same month.

komoot - hike, bike & run from Germany also demonstrated a robust performance. Downloads spiked at 43K in late February, with a second peak of 43K at the end of March. Revenue showed an impressive increase, jumping from $4K to $12K in the same period, while weekly active users peaked at 113K.

The Pedometer - Step Counter App by ITO Technologies from Japan saw a mixed trend in downloads, starting at 9K and reaching a high of 25K mid-February. Active users showed a more consistent upward trend from 131K to 226K by the quarter's end.

Lastly, Pedometer - Step Counter by Simple Design Ltd. from Hong Kong exhibited steady growth in downloads, beginning at 11K and rising to 22K in late March. Revenue for this app was relatively modest but showed growth, peaking at $110 in late March. Active users also grew from 198K to 321K.
